When is Eid al-Fitr 2027?
Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected on Tuesday, 9 March 2027 or Wednesday, 10 March 2027.
Eid al-Fitr is the first day of Shawwal, the month after Ramadan. On the evening of the 29th day of Ramadan, people look for the new crescent. If it is seen, the next day is Eid. If it is not, Ramadan completes thirty days and Eid follows (Sahih al-Bukhari 1909 (opens in a new tab)). Because communities follow different sightings and methods, Eid may be celebrated on different days in different places.
